Hey Portugal approached us in January 2010 with a concept for a directory and together with Paul and Wendy Manning we fleshed out a business with a directory both online and offline (in the form of a magazine). The primary funding for the project would come from advertising and what advertisers want (or should want) is to know that the site (and forthcoming magazine) are attracting attention and traffic. Why would you pay for advertising on a website with little or no traffic? It was then that Hey Portugal was born and we had the pleasure of developing an online presence for them which would put them head and shoulders above the current small competition, we helped them define their market, develop a strategy for attracting visitors (both online and offline) and amongst many other things develop their marketing strategy to appeal to advertisers. By 1 March we made their website live with www.heyportugal.com an online portal to inform, entertain and interest the people of central Portugal. Within the first 2 months the site attracted almost 1 million hits. Leaping Ahead has continued to support Hey Portugal with an ongoing support contract to ensure that they retain their focus, manage their challenges, market and promote their products, continue to innovate to stay ahead of a competitive market, amongst a number of other things. The first edition of their magazine went out in Summer 2010, all in all the Mannings have worked hard but are reaping the rewards and so is their audience. Features include
